Bellevue detectives arrested a 29-year-old male and 24-year-old female at a Renton hotel Friday. The pair is suspected of multiple car thefts from car dealerships across the state. Investigators say on Aug. 2, they drove a suspected stolen vehicle to a Bellevue dealership and asked the salesperson to move a similar vehicle to compare with theirs. They then asked for the Carfax report, and when the salesman returned, both vehicles were gone.

Detectives believe this duo is responsible for many other area thefts. Both have felony warrants for their arrest in Moses Lake on charges of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Attempted to Elude Police. Moses Lake police arrested both suspects, and after they bailed out of jail, they failed to appear for their court dates.

During a search warrant at the couple’s hotel, detectives recovered a stolen BMW, a stolen gun, various key fobs and multiple pieces of suspected stolen credit cards, checks and IDs.

On Tuesday morning, at 10:11 a.m., 911 dispatchers answered a call where they could only hear crying and screaming in the background. They traced the call to a Spanaway residence where police have previously responded to domestic violence incidents.

When deputies arrived, the suspect ran from the house and got into a vehicle. The victim was shouting that he had assaulted her. Deputies ordered the suspect to get out of the vehicle, but he refused and drove away. Deputies developed probable cause for assault in the second degree. Being a pursuable offense, they chased after the suspect.

Deputies deployed stop sticks during the pursuit, and at one point, the suspect was driving on only one functional tire. The suspect crashed his vehicle in a yard near the intersection of Canyon Road East and 200th St. E, and then fled on foot. He ran for 100 yards before getting stuck in blackberry bushes and taken into custody.

The victim told deputies that the suspect hit her in the face several times and attempted to strangle her. He then took her phone so she couldn’t call 911. The victim found an old cell phone and used it to call 911 for help.

The 25-year-old suspect was booked into jail, and the Prosecutor’s Office charged him with felony harassment, interfering with reporting of domestic violence, assault in the second degree, obstructing, theft in the third degree, and eluding.

He was arraigned yesterday, and bail was set at $100,000.

Seattle police arrested a man late Thursday after he allegedly fatally stabbed his wife at a Ballard apartment building.

Shortly before 10 p.m., officers responded to the 7000 block of 15th Avenue Northwest for a report of a domestic violence assault.

Officers found a deceased woman at the scene and arrested her husband in the area a short time later.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.

Officers were on patrol at Cal Anderson Park Friday morning at approximately 2 a.m. when a lime green, newer model Kia Soul intentionally rammed their patrol vehicle.

The officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, however the vehicle continued at a high rate of speed into the west and eventually north precinct.

The vehicle was not relocated.
