Mount Laurel, NJ (September 07, 2022) – A local restaurant owner died when his car was struck by another vehicle on Saturday, September 2nd.
52-year-old Glenn R. Keen was involved in a motor vehicle crash in front of his restaurant, Cucina Carini, located in the 1300th block of Hainesport-Mount Laurel Road.
The first public release of information came Wednesday when the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office reported that Keen had been leaving the parking lot of his restaurant at about 8:00 p.m. when his car was T-boned by the driver of another vehicle.
Keen was med-flighted to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he passed away later that evening.
The other driver was transported by paramedics to Cooper University Hospital in Camden with non-critical injuries.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mr. Glenn R. Keen, at this time.
Side-impact accidents are one of the most dangerous and unexpected vehicle collisions. Also known as a T-bone accident, side-impact crashes usually crush the passenger or driver’s side, meaning that between the victim’s vehicle and the striking vehicle, there is only a window and a door to absorb the impact.
Dissimilar to other kinds of accidents, where bumpers, heavy metal structures, a trunk, an engine, or seats offer something of a protective cushion, there is nothing to protect the victims of a side-impact collision.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that 40% of vehicle crashes take place in intersection collisions. The Department of Transportation reported that almost 7,000 intersections happen every year in New Jersey.
While you might have been responsibly obeying all driving laws and moving cautiously and lawfully through an intersection or a four-way stop, a reckless, irresponsible motorist just plowed through, causing you and your car to endure extensive damages. These kinds of accidents are often caused by drunk or distracted drivers or by a driver who simply is not concerned with the safety of others.
